“An island with two mountains and the wide deep sea ….” – again cheap flights (to Alghero) inspired me to plan a simple trip. This time only with hand luggage in the form of two bike pack pockets. In Alghero there is a nice small campsite on the outskirts right on the beach and the old town is great, especially in the evening. From there we made a nice day trip by bike along the coast. Unfortunately, we quickly noticed that it was too hot for us to ride a bike and were happily invited spontaneously by a couple to share a car with them.
Highlights of our trip:
Castelsardo: Castle and place on a small mountain, gorgeous! Nice campsite nearby is Camping Valledoria.
Stintino: Snorkeling on the beach in front of the prison Island.
We absolutely loved Valle de la Luna where you can walk and snorkel. Climb on the rocks for hours and enjoy the view. A dream! Next time we’ll just stay here for a week.
By the way: Traveling only with hand luggage was relaxed, we never had to pack a lot and it felt releasing not to have a big choice of clothes. That (among other things) inspired me to get a backpack that has hand luggage size!
